MPS’ HR Director, Andrew MacDonald, SHRM-SCP, recently returned from St. Petersburg, FL, where he was a keynote speaker at the 17th annual Conflict Resolution & Mediation Conference, hosted by the Mediation Training Institute at Eckerd College.
This year’s conference, “Elevate the Conversation,” was attended by an international audience of lawyers, HR professionals, coaches, mediators and leaders from the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, and multiple federal agencies
Andrew spoke about the role of mediation in a consultant’s toolkit, and the importance of developing this capacity among employees. “Mediation training is essential to enable consultants to work effectively in teams focusing on client delivery. These skills promote stronger relationships and bring clarity and direction when confronted with difficult conversations and conflict.” Andrew also discussed the conflict management training he has provided, internally at MPS, as part of our professional development programs, as well as to our engagement managers, and externally to clients.
