In an ongoing effort to address the social and economic issues that continue to roil towns and cities across America, the staff at MPS has elected to direct our July corporate donations – $1000.00 each – to three nonprofits dedicated to making real and lasting change. Equal Justice Initiative works to bring about criminal justice reform and racial justice by challenging excessive punishment and abusive prison conditions, and educating the public about the legacy of racial injustice. The vision of Black Girls Code is to increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering girls, ages 7 to 17, to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures. Black Women’s Blueprint is committed to highlighting Black women’s struggles, building movements, and engaging in progressive research and advocacy in an effort to empower Black women. According to Lily Seglin, MPS’s Community Engagement Manager, “A significant number of MPS consultants have been spending the summer educating themselves on American law, justice, and civil rights. I am pleased that our team has selected these organizations to support the excellent work they do.”
